Tipstub: Server Tip Tracker · iOS

Privacy Policy

Tipstub — Privacy Policy

Effective 26 October 2026 · Version 1.0

Tipstub is designed so that your information is stored only on your iPhone, and in your own backups, including any backup folder you choose. We have no servers and never receive it. We don't collect, see, sell or share any of it.

Who we are

Tipstub is made by an independent developer. You can reach us through the support page linked in Settings, or by email when Settings shows Contact the developer.

What the app stores

Everything you enter (your jobs, your shifts with their days, times, tips, tip-outs, sales, wages, labels and notes, the past totals you add, the names of files you import, your reminder schedule and your settings) is stored only inside the app on this iPhone, protected by iOS data protection, and in your own backups, including any backup folder you choose.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no account and no servers, never sends your information over the internet, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. Its only connections are to Apple's App Store for purchases and to web pages you choose to open.

When data leaves your iPhone

Only when you choose. When you export, back up or share something, it goes where you send it. If you turn on Automatic backup, the app saves a backup file in the folder you picked each time you leave the app after a change; if that folder is in iCloud Drive or another storage provider, that provider stores and syncs the file under its own terms. If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, iOS includes the app's data in those backups, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.

Purchases

The 14-day trial and the one-time Full Version are bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only which of them your Apple Account owns and when they were bought. The app never receives your name, payment details or Apple Account, and it stores nothing about you. Apple keeps the purchase record under its own privacy policy.

Permissions

Notifications, only if you turn on the end-of-shift reminder; the app asks when you turn it on. When you choose a folder for Automatic backup, iOS gives the app access to that folder only. Tipstub does not use your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. You can change permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Widgets

The widgets show this week's totals from a small summary the app keeps in a folder on this iPhone that only Tipstub and its widgets can read: totals, hours and hourly pay, your job's name and your last shift's day and amount. It holds no notes or labels.

Crash reports

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share crash and performance reports about the app with us. Apple collects these, not the app.

Keeping and deleting

Your data stays until you delete it. Delete All Data in Settings removes everything the app stores, including the widget summary and the reminder schedule, straight away, except the small record the app uses to avoid asking you for a rating too often. Deleting the app also removes its data from this iPhone. Before an app update changes how data is stored, and before a restore, the app keeps an automatic safety copy of its data on this iPhone (at most three of each, never included in iCloud or computer backups); Delete All Data removes them. Backup files in a folder you chose stay there, and Delete All Data makes the app forget that folder. Files you exported, and earlier iCloud or computer backups, stay until you delete them.

Children

Tipstub is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You control your data in the app. Contact us with any question.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version comes with an app update and on our website, with a new effective date.
